Viola Davis has finally revealed the premiere date of "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3.

On social media, the critically acclaimed actress announced that the legal drama series will return for its third season on Sept. 22.

She also included the promo poster for the upcoming season, showing her character Annalise Keating looking fierce as ever, as well as the Keating 5 students all covered in blood. This means that fans must look forward to an intense plot for season 3.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly back in March, executive producer Peter Nowalk teased that Annalise's top students Wes Gibbins (Alfred Enoch), Rebecca Sutter (Katie Findlay), Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee), Asher Millstone (Matt McGorry), and Michaela Pratt (Aja Naomi King) could try to outwit themselves in order to fill the spot left by her most trusted wingman, Frank (Charlie Weber), who disappeared in season 2.

"They could each do it in their own way," Nowalk said. "There's also Nate (Billy Brown), by the way, who could do it."

But the executive producer is also aware of the fact that Frank's role in Annalise's life could be hard to fill.

"But I don't know if anyone can actually replace Frank, because he was a very specific role in Annalise's life," Nowalk stated. "The fact that she had such control over him — obviously she didn't know where that came from — but that he's willing to do any bad thing for her, I don't know if anyone else in the firm would go as far as Frank did. Hard shoes to fill."

The executive producer also teased that all the members of Keating 5 could possibly shine when the series returns next season.

"Take this ride with us, and some characters will be really present in some episodes, and some will have to have a smaller part. That's up to us to balance it out right. What's fun for me is I'm still discovering the things about them. I almost want to get back to work right away to do that," he stated.
