'Hawaii Five-O' season 7 premiere, spoilers: Will Steve and Catherine cross paths again?

Hawaii Five-0 season 7 will premiere on Sept. 23 on CBS facebook.com/HawaiiFive0CBS

"Hawaii Five-O" fans are speculating that the upcoming season will bring back Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth) and that she will cross paths with Steve McGarett (Alex O'Loughlin). However, it may not be what the fans are expecting. Recent promotional photos also reveal that a persistent commander will run immediately into trouble at the start of the season.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Catherine will be returning to Hawaii but will have a different plan. She did not return because of her love life, but rather about work. This was how the executive producer Peter Lenkov broke it to the fans earlier.

"People are interpreting it like her coming back into the relationship and starting all over again, but I just don't think that can happen after all that these two have gone through. Her relation to the story is more plot driven than reigniting that relationship," Lenkov stated.

Meanwhile, TV Line exclusively revealed the first photos of "Hawaii Five-O" season 7. The first photo shows Steve on the run, and then the second photo shows him down on the street with blood on his chest. He has been shot. It also stated that a serial killer is roaming the streets of Hawaii.

Lenkov explained, "There is an arc with Danny trying to get McGarrett to slow down a bit and appreciate the fact that he's been given a second chance — or fifth chance, maybe sixth, based on all the stuff he's gone through in the series."

The upcoming season will also be bringing in several new faces as well as familiar one. Keiko Mahoe (Rosalind Chao) will be the new woman governor. Alicia (Claire Forlani) will play as the recurring retired criminal profiler. James Whistler (Chris Vance), a season 3 and 4 character, will also be back. While a clever British M16 agent and a rich Egyptian businessman person named Lucky (Faran Tahir) will make things more interesting.

"Hawaii Five-O" season 7 will premiere on Sept. 23 on CBS.
