'Halo 5: Guardians' release date news: system requirements for 'Forge' revealed by 343 Industries ahead of September launch

The studio has recently revealed the PC requirements required to be able to run the needed to run "Halo 5: Forge," the level creation tool for "Halo 5: Guardians." The map editor will be released on Sept. 8 and will require the Windows 10 Anniversary update.

"'Halo 5: Forge' is primed to bring Halo 5's entire Forge level-creation experience to Windows 10 PCs, along with a suite of great new features, including full mouse and keyboard support, 4k resolution display capability, a brand new content browser to makes showcasing and sharing your creations easier than ever before, and the ability play your creations with friends online through custom games," according to the announcement.

Players who opt to create new maps on their PC can easily save and publish them via their account on Xbox Live. On using user-created maps, the procedure is no different from ready-made maps. Gamers will simply go to Custom Games, invite friends and simply load the selected map and mode. Achievements and Gamescore will also be featured on these maps.

For the PC requirements to create custom maps, aside from the specific operating system, one would also need, at least, an Intel Core i5 at 2.3 GHz or AMD equivalent, DirectX 12, GeForce 650 Ti with 2 GB of VRAM, 8 GB of system RAM and 40 GB of HDD space.

To produce a 1080p/60 fps, just like the Xbox One, it is recommended to have an Intel Core i5-3570K at 3.4GHz or AMD equivalent, 12 GB of system RAM and a GeForce GTX 970 (4 GB of VRAM). For Ultra settings, 4K display resolution at 60 FPS, an Intel Core i7-4770K running at 3.4GHz or AMD Equivalent, 16 GB of system RAM, and GeForce 980 Ti (6 GB of VRAM).

The date will also launch "Anvil's Legacy," the next free content for "Halo 5: Guardians." The update will bring in new skins, new weapons, several new maps, an unnamed Magnum and several more.  Blue's News added that "Halo 5: Guardians" will still not be available to play on the PC.
