"Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2" will be hitting the big screen a year from now. It is still a long time away, and there is still so much to know and to find out. But what are the things that are known so far? Very little, it seems.
Director James Gunn has reminded "Guardians of the Galaxy" fans that there are still 365 days to go before the big date. He said on a Twitter post, "One year from now #GotGVol2 opens. Can't wait for you to see what we've been creating. It's not what you expect."
There has been so little information available about the movie, aside from the original cast that seems to be intact for the upcoming second part, namely Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close and Karen Gillan. The voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel will also be back.
Several new faces are also included, as Gunn mentioned in a post last February. He said "And yes Kurt Russell has joined the #GotGVol2 cast, as have @PomKlementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and @SullyActsUp. They are all amazing."
Russell is said to be playing Peter Quill's mysterious dad. CinemaBlend said that Sylvester Stallone was also seen on the set and is believed to have been cast as well.
Zap2It reported that the soundtrack is also being prepared by Gunn, and he is planning to include another David Bowie song from his "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" album, especially now the artist has left the earthly world.
Gunn said, "I've been trying to work another song from Ziggy into the sequel, which would make Bowie the only artist to have a song on both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Who knows. Maybe I can figure a way out."
Currently, nobody knows when the "Guardians of the Galaxy" will connect to the Marvel universe, but someday, somewhere, the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Thanos, the Collector, and Star Lord will all get to meet somehow.
Meanwhile, Chris Pratt surprised a group of kids from Lake Stevens Boys & Girls Club. The kids built their own rocket ship and had no idea that Star Lord himself would be the one to intercept their message. The kids' reaction was priceless and everybody was happy. This was in line with the actor's own Omaze campaign to raise funds for the children at Lake Stevens, Screen Rant reported.
"Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2" will hit the big screen on May 5, 2017.
