'GTA 6' release date news: Jacksonville rumored to be possible main location of game

 Rockstar Games

Developer Rockstar has not mentioned a word about "GTA 6," but fans cannot stop speculating about the next chapter of its highly successful game series. After so many places being rumored to be the setting of the game, it is now believed that the next one will still be in the United States, and is said to be in Jacksonville.

Parent Herald previously reported that the company is considering Jacksonville, Florida as the next location for its next "GTA" game. The place is perfect since the media tags it as the "murder capital" in the U.S., along with Miami, which is a big plus considering the theme of the game. It is also considered as the largest city by area in the country. However, it lacks popular landmarks and different types of terrain, which could make the next iteration a little bit dull.

GTA 5 Cheats added that it comes after San Diego and Honolulu in terms of the things it can offer to be a viable map in "GTA 6."

Several report also mentioned that Rio de Janeiro could also be a potential map for the rumored game, though it also lacks known landmarks, but the environment could possibly compensate for it. But this is outside the country, similar to London and Tokyo, which were also highly rumored to be the next location previously.

Fans, on the other hand, have their own theories regarding the next game. According to them, there could also be a possibility that Rockstar may repeat its creation of a different time-period for the game. This happened back in 1999, when there were two titles released for the game, "Grand Theft Auto: London 1969" and "Grand Theft Auto: London 1961." But these were just prototypes, an exploration of the vast GTA universe, Enstarz reported. Others say that the game could be in the future as well, offering teleportation as a mode of transport, instead of cars, motorcycles and tanks.

Rockstar has remained mum and not issued any official news about any future "GTA" game.
