The "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, one of Rockstar Games' most popular video game titles, is rumored to get a new game by 2018.

"Grand Theft Auto 6," according to Game N Guide, will be released by 2018 because of Rockstar Games' five-year-gap trend when it comes to launching their "Grand Theft Auto" games. After all, "Grand Theft Auto 4" was released back in 2008 and "Grand Theft Auto 5" in 2013, giving some credence to the speculation.

However, a lot of people online are speculating that this game will be released by the time the next generation of the Xbox and PlayStation is unveiled, according to MNR Daily. But this is yet to be confirmed; after all, the next iterations for these consoles are still yet to be announced.

It's still too early to even speculate what this new "Grand Theft Auto" game could offer its players, but rumors point to a female lead character.

At this point in time, fans are just clinging to their hopes of Rockstar Games finally making an announcement at the E3 2016, happening this month. The game company has made the announcement to attend, so it might be possible for them to at least announce their planned game titles by 2017.

"Grand Theft Auto" has always been known for its controversial content, which involves violence and other mature themes. Regardless of this, the game has a huge following and has survived the test of time. As such, there will always be anticipation and hype for any new installment of the game.
