'GTA 6' release date news: Game rumored to launch 2018 with female protagonist

GTA 5 Online Be My Valentine DLC Rockstar Newswire

It has been almost three years since "GTA V" was released and there is still no concrete news if another installment is on its way. Fans are speculating that "GTA VI" is already in the works and will include a female protagonist. Additionally, it will also have bigger maps but will still be in the United States.

The latest rumors surrounding "GTA 6" is that actress Eva Mendes will be lending her voice to the first-ever female protagonist in the game. Her husband, Ryan Gosling, is also rumored to be joining her in the voice acting.

Up to now, the exact location is still not known, but fans are speculating that it will still be in the U.S., just like the previous game. Game fans have been clamoring for bigger maps since "GTA 5" was released, and was in a celebratory mood when it was rumored that the next game in the franchise will contain the Tokyo map, though it seems that it is unworkable.

Day Herald reported that the highly speculated game may arrive between 2018 and 2020, which is after the new generation of video game consoles have arrived, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two, or whatever names their respective manufacturers will call them.

Furthermore, the report also mentioned that a known bad person in the real world will be included in the upcoming game, Osama Bin Laden.

Drake is also included in the latest hearsay, and it is believed that the Canadian rapper may lay some music tracks for the next game. This started after the rapper released a new album with its artwork very similar to a loading screen of the game. A petition was even started to let Drake and Rockstar know that game fans would like the two to work together.

Techradar has mentioned last March that the tedious work of game development has started for the much anticipated "GTA 6," according to their source.

Currently, there is no official word about any upcoming "Grand Theft Auto" game.
