"Grimm" season 5 introduced more threats to the Portland-based series when it started. Nick (David Giuntoli) starting a new life being a father and dealing with so many challenges, such as the death of his mother and Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch), Trubel's (Jacqueline Toboni) abduction and the impending war.

In the premiere episode titled "The Grimm Identity," there was a confrontation between Nick and FBI Agent Chavez (Elizabeth Rodriquez), who he believes is part of a secret Wesen society. Nick also agreed to meet with other people who are part of Chavez's society to get some answers as to what happened to his house seen at the end of season 4.

Upon arriving at the meeting spot, Nick and Chavez discovered that all those people have been killed. Both of them also faced off with a group of Wesen and there, Chavez died when a Wesen fatally wounded her.

On her final moments, Chavez was able to warn Nick about a coming war, while Nick was asking her about Trubel's whereabouts. However, Chavez wasn't able to answer before she died, but only managed to give Nick the chess piece that belonged to Trubel.

Meanwhile, Nick was also seen settling down with his new life, with Adalind (Claire Coffee) moving in with him.

In the previous episode titled "Clear and Wesen Danger," Nick took some time off to help Adalind with their daughter, Kelly. That leaves Hank (Russell Hornsby) with a new partner to solve crimes and mysteries tied to Wesen.

A door was shown where one man stood by to keep watch. On the background, there were popping sounds and thuds heard behind the door as if someone is fighting or being tortured.

The mystery will continue on as episode 3 titled "Lost Boys" will air this week. Based on the synopsis released, Bree Turner's Rosalee will go missing after being abducted by orphaned children who want her to be the mother they never had.

Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) joins Nick and Hank in finding Rosalee, as they discover that her disappearance may be connected to earlier cases of similar nature that didn't end well.

'Grimm' will return on Friday at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
