Fans of both racing and "Gran Turismo" titles will be happy to know that the latest racing installment, "Gran Turismo Sport," will be coming to the PlayStation 4 Pro platform, and it is for a very good reason.

The PlayStation 4 Pro boasts a lot of features that no console has ever offered before. With high dynamic range lighting, 4K resolution, and a higher frame rate, the gaming experience on the console could be described as something close to realism. Polyphony Digital, the developer of "Gran Turismo," wants to take full advantage of that untapped power.

Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi told Red Bull in an interview, "We've always had this curiosity for the latest technology and so we have wanted to work with things like HDR and 4K. The work is not easy, but it's still something that we've had fun working with and that attitude of having fun has been important for us during development."

More vivid and vibrant colors will be used in conjunction with the PS4 Pro's technology; so much that it will make the Red Ferrari instantly recognizable. Another example is clearly seeing the tobacco orange body paint of McLaren cars present in the games, which pales when used with something less than the 4K technology.

Yamauchi also adds that "Gran Turismo Sport" is going to be able to display 10,000 nits, giving a huge dynamic range. This means the players will be able to see the most intricate detail of the cars used in the game while taking advantage of the PS4 Pro's HDR lighting. Even though no HDR TV today can use even around 1,000 nits, he expects this will be possible in the future.

In a separate interview with GT Planet, Yamauchi also pointed out that they are scrapping dynamic time-lapsing or weather during the actual race. They will do so in order to raise the frame rate and quality of the image while the player is on the race tracks. The player does, however, have the option to set the weather and time before the race starts.

"Gran Turismo Sport" has no definite launch date yet, but it can be expected to roll out in 2017.
