'Gotham' season 2 news: More villains coming; episode 7 spoilers €” Penguin and Gordon in a stand-off; Edward to deal with his latest kill

"Gotham" season 2 carries its subtitle "Rise of the Villains" and the show did not fail to introduce more criminals to the city.

The latest addition is Bridgit (Michelle Veintimilla) aka Firefly, who had an encounter with Gotham City Police Department (GCPD) Strike Force and ended up killing one of its members.

In episode 6 titled "By Fire," which aired last Monday, Oct. 26, Bridgit was seen with comrade Selina (Camren Bicondova) who encouraged her to leave Gotham after the police encounter.

However, their plan failed when Pike brothers got to Bridgit first. The Firefly went on a killing spree, taking the lives of her brothers by burning them.

Now that she feels superior with her powers, Bridgit aims to clean up the streets of Gotham, but Selina doesn't feel confident about it and actually cared about her friend's safety that she decided to tell Gordon (Ben McKenzie).

Another GCPD encounter with Firefly resulted to the latter burning up in flames and presumed to be dead, when in actuality, she's still alive and was sent to Indian Hill, which is revealed to be a land where experiments are being conducted.

These experiments could also create new villains who will stir more trouble in Gotham.

In the same episode, Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) and Kristen Kringle (Chelsea Spack) were about to give in to their feelings, but the latter fears that ex-beau Officer Dougherty (Zachary Spicer) might come back.

However, Edward was bold enough to admit to his love interest that he killed the officer in Kringle's defense, which of course scared the latter prompting her to leave. However, Edward doesn't want her to and ends up strangling her to death by accident.

It won't be long before fans get to see the darkest side of Edward, now that the love of his life is gone.

Meanwhile, the next episode of "Gotham" titled "Mommy's Little Monster" will show how Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) will deal with the kidnapping of his mother Gertrude (Carol Kane) by Theo Galavan (James Frain).

Penguin and Gordon will see each other upon reaching the warehouse where Gertrude is being held captive. The two will be caught in a tense moment as Theo will attempt to turn them against each other.

Also, Edward will need to deal with his latest victim, Kristen, and fans will just have to tune in to see how he plans on cleaning up his mess.

"Gotham" season 2 episode 7 will air on Monday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
