GoPro Hero 5 release date, specs rumors: will device feature 8k resolution when it releases in October?

GoPro Hero 5, GoPro's new flagship camera, has been confirmed to be released in October 2016. According to Game N Guide, the CEO of the GoPro company, Nick Woodman, has confirmed this highly-anticipated device's release.

Initially, the GoPro Hero 5 was supposed to be released last year, and its delayed release might be one of the reasons for its continued financial decline. Nevertheless, with this release date revealed, GoPro is now under pressure to ensure its launch or agitate its loyal customers even more.

For its features, the rumors for it has been consistent ever since it was first announced, but generally, reports online summarize that each of the features are geared towards improved resolution, a longer battery life, better usage and others.

The main focus for the GoPro Hero 5 is the improvement of its camera software and hardware, with the manufacturers emphasizing the latter being on par with its software products. With this, it's to be expected that this newest GoPro camera will have either an A10 Chip, a Snapdragon 800, or a Qualcomm Processor.

Additionally, a lot of rumors also say that the GoPro Hero 5 will be able to take 8k resolution videos, which translates to an ultra-high definition recording standard. This sets the new GoPro apart from its predecessors, since it will be the first ever device to be able to have this capability. Furthermore, it will be able to take 60 frames per second videos as well.

Battery life issues are also addressed for this upcoming GoPro camera, and various speculations reveal that it's going to be powered by a 2,800 mAh battery. With this, fans can expect this device to be able to last longer than the GoPro 4.
