One of the highly anticipated tech gadgets is the GoPro Hero 5, which fans are expecting to get later this year. They are also excited for the reason that the action cam will be Karma drone- and VR-ready.

Action cam aficionados are looking forward for the release of the next-generation of GoPro camera, the Hero 5. It is highly speculated that the upcoming product will be Karma drone-ready, which is another upoming product from the same company. There is a possibility that the two products may be released at the same time.

It is also rumored that the soon-to-be released camera will work flawlessly with the VR headgear available in the market, from the Samsung Gear VR to the more expensive HTC Vive.

With regards to the difference from its predecessor, it was previously reported that a significant upgrade will arrive with the upcoming product. It is rumored to have a faster processing power with its upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 or an A10 chip, able to take 8K resolution videos running at 60 frames per second, and a bigger battery capacity.  A dual-lens system and better Bluetooth connectivity is expected as well.

It was also mentioned to be smaller and lighter than its predecessor, which will make it more drone compatible.

Upon its release, possibly by October, the price is speculated to be in the US$450 to US$550 range.

On a related news, Fortune earlier reported that the company's delay in releasing its highly awaited Karma drone is causing some debate within its investors. GoPro is currently having some financial crisis and its shareholders are considering that the unreleased drone may resolve the current situation. Nick Woodman, the company CEO, mentioned before that the company is planning to release its Karma drone during the holiday season.

The company's sales performance is going down because of the tough competition in the market.
