Google Nexus 7 (2016) release date, specs, news: Huawei turned down manufacturing deal; HTC to take over?

The world of mobile phones and technology is ever-changing. A lot of companies do not possess all expertise to be poured on the creation of a single device, thus ex-deals are made. Sadly, this may not be the case for Google's pixel phone.

In a report from GSM Arena, it appears that Google initially had plans with Chinese manufacturer Huawei on creating its newest phone, the Google Nexus 7. It wasn't until such time that the two companies didn't agree on the branding of the product that Huawei had to turn down the offer. Google wanted to have its brand alone adorned on the pixel phone, and Huawei didn't like the said arrangement.

According to Huawei's vice president of the Consumer Business Group Colin Giles, such an arrangement would be unfair to the company's endeavor to make a name in the mobile niche. Giles also gave the idea that dropping the deal isn't Huawei's loss, as they don't see Google as a competitor, Win Future has learned.

At first, it appears that the new Google Nexus 7 may never see the light of day. However, reports from Game N' Guide say that HTC, another Chinese company, could be open to such a deal. Google may just contact them in hopes of pursuing the said project as HTC has previously expressed their intention to partner in the development of the pixel phone.

Should the project push through, PC Advisor was able to gather rumors on what the new gadget could have in store. It is expected to run on Andromeda, a mash-up of the Chrome OS and Android platforms. It is also rumored to have a 7-inch Quad HD pressure-sensitive display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 13Mp rear camera.

Until official word is announced, no date is set in stone and fans will have to sit and wait in anticipation.
