The fourth installment of the PlayStation 4 exclusive title "God of War" will soon be released. However, several news updates regarding the release of "God of War 4" have raised questions from the anticipating fans.

Recently, there have been reports that a Portuguese retailer called Gaming Replay has revealed that "God of War 4" is coming out this year. As seen on GameZone's screenshot of the listing, the retailer has listed Sept. 14 as the release date on its pre-order page for the game.

While there is no way of telling if this information is accurate or not, the publication has also reported that "God of War" advertisements that featured Kratos and his son Atreus appeared in Spain during Father's Day back in March, which means that the release of an all-new "God of War" video game might be happening soon.

However, according to PlayStation Universe, this launch date seems premature, considering that the developer has given little to no information about the highly anticipated game since last year, when the new "God of War" game was unveiled at Sony's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 press event through a full gameplay demo.

On the other hand, Christopher Judge, the voice actor for Kratos, is saying otherwise. Whether or not it was an intentional leak, Judge has revealed through his Twitter bio that the new "God of War" game is coming out next year, instead of the rumored September release. His bio has "KRATOS - GOD OF WAR (2018)" written on it. Could this mean that the game development has hit a snag? Or is it just a trick to make people think that the game's release is still far way, only to surprise everyone by launching it earlier than expected?

As different reports are saying different things, fans must wait for an official announcement from Sony Interactive Entertainment regarding the official launch date of "God of War 4" for PlayStation 4.
