Rowan Blanchard remains optimistic about the renewal of "Girl Meets World" for season 4 despite Disney Channel's silence.

In an interview with SheKnows, the 14-year-old actress revealed that she has no idea if the "Boy Meets World" spin-off will get a renewal order for another season.

"I know as much as you do," Blanchard stated. "We are hoping for a Season 4, obviously, because we want to continue our story, and I feel like it's an important story to tell. But as of right now, we just finished [filming] Season 3 and we're still waiting on the word. But we do have more episodes coming out this year that air into early 2017, so we're covered for a little bit."

But in case the series will be cancelled, fans are hoping that Freeform will pick up the show from its sister network. According to speculations, the plot of the series is going in a more mature direction as it tackles sensitive plots like sex and serious teen relationships. Since these topics do not fit Disney Channel's policy, the series might have a slimmer chance of survival if the other network will not pick up the show.

But a network representative earlier told TVLine that they have yet to decide on the fate of the series.

"We are wrapping production next week on the third season," the rep stated. "With episodes airing on Disney Channel into 2017, there's no news to share yet about a fourth season."

Meanwhile, the third season of "Girl Meets World" is currently on a hiatus. The series will pick up for season 3's episode 13 titled "Girl Meets the Great Lady of New York" on Sept. 16.

The synopsis for the episode reads:

"Some students learn surprises about their diverse heritage during Cultural Week."

Disney Channel is expected to announce the series renewal of "Girl Meets World" for season 4 soon.
