It's officially 2016, which means fans of the Disney series "Girl Meets World" will only have to wait a few more days before their favourite show comes back on air. The show's season 2 will resume on Jan. 8.
But even though the show hasn't even finished airing the rest of its season 2 episodes, viewers are now focusing on possible storylines for season 3. And with little to no information scattered on the Internet, fans are experiencing a spoiler drought.
Thankfully, the writers behind the coming-of-age sitcom have taken it upon themselves to quench fans' thirst for details.
"Girl Meets World" writers have posted several tidbits about the third season on their Twitter page. A Dec. 6 post revealed that the writers have dubbed season 3 as the "season of feelings" after season 1 and 2's "season of friendship" and "season of growth", respectively.
The title is certainly appropriate, especially since the show has, time and again, teased the love triangle among Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lucas (Peyton Meyer).
Speaking of love triangles, the writers also sparked quite a frenzy with their Dec. 8 post, which read, "Minor issues resolve quickly. This won't. Because if you know us, you know we'll do much more than a triangle. This all began in the pilot." Definitely looking like an exciting season.
If that's not enough, they also recently posted titles of several episodes of the upcoming season. Judging by their post, it looks like Riley is in for a world of emotions in season 3. The titles are definitely intriguing, especially the ones titled "Girl Meets Triangle" and "Girl Meets Ski Lodge." Could the former be a reference to the three friends' love triangle?
On the other hand, "Girl Meets Ski Lodge" is making quite an impression on fans because of its homage to an episode from its parent sitcom, "Boy Meets World." As fans may know by now, "Girl Meets World" is a spinoff or sequel to the '90s ABC sitcom, which also had an episode set in a ski lodge.
Other than these interesting details, fans will also witness a lot of drama and more mature topics when season 3 rolls around. "Girl Meets World" season 3 will start filming this month and is set to premiere in the spring.
