'Gears of War 4' release date: Xbox One S limited edition reportedly leaked

It was rumored earlier that a limited edition "Gears of War 4" Xbox One S is in the works and will arrive when the game is released. Now, an image of the box art of the console surfaced online.

An Xbox insider with a name of @ekim_gaf leaked an image of the still-unannounced "Gears of War 4" Xbox One S. The console has a 2TB hard drive and contains the games iconic Crimson Omen emblem. It also contains a matching controller and will arrive with a digital copy of the game, Gadgets NDTV reported.

@ekim_gaf also said in another tweet, "Of course it includes a code for the game (Play Anywhere compatible) in the Ultimate Edition. Price is $449."

Players who will purchase the Xbox One S can expect improved visuals in almost all existing games. The upcoming console can also provide a consistent frame rate, compared to its older brother. These features were mentioned by the game studio head Rod Fergusson and Xbox boss Phil Spencer previously, the report added.

Fans can expect an official statement from Microsoft anytime soon with regards to the limited edition console. The game's release is just a few months away.

Meanwhile, Microsoft and Loot Crate have teamed up and announced the "Gears of War 4: Loot Crate Edition" and will be available in two options. For US$129.99, fans will get to receive a digital copy of the game, a 7-inch replica of the Lancer weapon and "more awesome COG sanctioned swag." Another offering is for US$74.99 which will include a 4.5-inch replica of the same weapon, but no game will be included. The Loot Crates will arrive during the games release date.

"Gears of War 4" is scheduled to be releases on the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC on Oct. 11. Fans will also be receiving digital copies of the full Xbox 360 "Gears of War" bundle, playable via its Backward Compatiblity feature, which include "Gears of War," "Gears of War 2," "Gears of War 3" and "Gears of War: Judgment."
