Rumors have been surrounding Disney's "Frozen 2" ever since the sequel was officially confirmed by the entertainment giant.
The latest rumor to hit the Internet involves a certain Filipina beauty queen allegedly landing a role in the animated sequel. Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach caught the eyes of millions when she strutted on stage to represent her country, Philippines, and won the coveted title. Now, speculations point towards Disney getting the Asian beauty onboard for "Frozen 2."
The rumor started circulating after Disney artist Jimmy Mulligan sketched up a "Disney-fied" Wurtzbach and posted it on his Instagram account. The drawing included a crown reminiscent of "Frozen" and the cartoon Wurtzbach closely resembled Elsa.
After receiving massive support and praise from fans, especially Filipino fans, Mulligan expressed his thanks via another Instagram post with the caption: "Mahal na mahal kita. #missuniverse #pinoy," which translates to "I love you very much." However, nothing has been officially confirmed by neither Disney nor Wurtzbach.
This is not the only speculation to hit "Frozen 2," as the Internet is full of them. Another rumor started after director Chris Buck gave an interview to MTV News and hinted at the possibility that the film could take on an LGBT angle. Buck stated that they're "very aware of what is happening in society" and that if they "don't have a decent message in there, I think we've missed an opportunity." The director also noted the film's influence towards its young audience.
Other than that, the sequel is said to focus on the two sisters' relationship once again as they journey through another adventure together. Elsa, voiced by Idina Menzel, will reportedly find a love interest in Prince Hans, which came as a shock to many because of his dastardly ways in the first film. Anna, voiced by Kristen Bell, is rumored to have her own powers, which she will discover in the upcoming sequel.
"Frozen 2" will hit cinemas in 2017.
