'Frozen 2' sequel news: Elsa's fun side will be shown

Elsa from Disney's Frozen Walt Disney Animation Studios

The amount of pressure for "Frozen 2" to live up to the hype and expectation of fans who fell head over heels for the 2014 blockbuster original is enormous and Disney is making sure that the sequel will satisfy the franchise's massive following.

Pretty much everything about the highly anticipated animated film is under wraps. The movie won't hit the silver screen anytime soon. As per Ecumenical News, Disney CEO Bob Iger said the studio is taking its time for the movie because rushing it could cost its quality.

Back in August, director Chris Buck told MTV News that he and his co-director Jennifer Lee "are just getting back into the story room together and throwing ideas around." Buck teased that they have the concept for "Frozen 2" already and he believes it is "very strong."

He did not elaborate on it though, but in a separate interview with Fandango, Buck revealed that Elsa's fun personality will shine through in the sequel. The director reminded that the first movie saw her in a dramatic journey but with all that in the past, the Ice Queen gets to have real fun.

With the silence from Disney and all the people involved, rumor mills fill the gap for fans who just want to know more about the much-awaited movie. Some of the "Frozen 2" reports passed around include Olaf and Elsa getting love interests.

There are also speculations about Tarzan somehow making an appearance in the sequel (Buck has worked with animated films of the character) and the manipulative Prince Hans returning to Arendelle a changed man.

At the moment, Buck only went so far as to reveal that Anna and Elsa remain the heart of the story. "We have two very strong female leads in 'Frozen.' We will keep that going in the next one. We will tackle other issues that, I think, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are dealing with."

"Frozen 2" is expected to be out in 2017 at the earliest.
