'The Fosters' season 3 episode 3 spoilers: Callie doubts AJ, Stef gives Lena surprising news about Monte

The Fosters season 3 ABC Family

"The Fosters" premiered its third season on June 8, and it opened several weeks after the car crash that involved Jesus, Mariana, and their biological mother Ana. This season, fans are tuning in to find out what's going to happen to the unconventional family.

Last season, Lena and Stef's relationship hit a rough patch as they disagreed on whether they should welcome Ana's new baby to their family or not. The issue caused so much stress on Lena's part that she was forced to confide in her co-worker Monte, who ended up kissing her. Meanwhile, Connor and Jude went on to pursue a relationship shortly after Connor came out to his dad, while Robert gave up his parental rights to Callie, which allowed her to be adopted by Lena and Stef.

In the season 3 premiere titled "Wreckage," the family dealt with the aftermath of the car crash. Stef put her skills to work as she tried to find the driver responsible for the crash. Jude and Connor's romance hit a snag when Jude said that he wants to keep their relationship private for now. Meanwhile, Brandon started attending the Idyllwild Music Program and met some tough competition. Lena attempted to put the kiss behind her, while Stef tried to set up Monte with her friends.

This week's episode titled "Father's Day" saw Stef and Lena having Mike over for a Father's Day brunch. When Jude learned that Callie invited her biological father Robert, he surprised everyone by extending the invitation to his own father, Donald. On this episode, it was Jude's turn to come out to his father, who took it well.

So what's in store for the Fosters next week? In the upcoming episode titled "Déjà vu," the story will focus on Jude's and Callie's respective struggles. When the family takes a vested interest in AJ, a runaway who drops in at the center where Callie volunteers, Callie has doubts on whether she can trust him. Meanwhile, Jude has difficulty moving on from the trauma of the shooting incident, while Stef surprises Lena with some news about Monte.

"The Fosters" airs Mondays at 7 p.m. on ABC.
