'Fixer Upper' stars Chip and Joanna Gaines expecting their fifth child

Chip and Joanna Gaines from HGTV's "Fixer Upper" quit the show last year to focus on their family, and focus they did, since they are now expecting their fifth child.

Chip announced their pregnancy on January 2 in his trademark humorous fashion. On Instagram (@chipgaines), the reality star posted a photo showing himself and his wife comparing the sizes of their bellies. "Gaines party of 7.. (If you're still confused.. WE ARE PREGNANT @joannagaines," he captioned the photo.

Fans showered them with congratulations. "Congratulations Chip and Joanna! God bless you and your beautiful family," a fan wrote. "The true reason they ended the show!!! Omg!!" another netizen commented.

They do not know yet whether their next baby will be a boy or a girl. Chip and Joanna are already the proud parents of Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 7.

They announced back in September that the fifth season of their home renovation show would be their last. Their decision caught fans off guard, since they were doing really well. However, a source told Us Weekly that the show was creating "a security issue" for the couple and their four children. "People drive by and like to take pictures in front of their house," the insider revealed. "I think they just want to take a step back from it."

Another source shared that the couple were worried about the negative impact fame would bring to their marriage. "They don't want anything to affect their marriage. They want to focus on raising their kids and being a family since their kids are getting older," the source said.

Meanwhile, Chip earlier told ABC News that they had four kids before the show started, and they didn't have any throughout all five seasons. Now that they gave up "Fixer Upper," Chip is keen on building up their family. "For me, I'm really excited to go back and try to maybe ... try to make some more babies," he said.
