'Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location' release date update: Game pushed back because it's 'too dark'

New Babydoll villain for the game Scott Games

The new title in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise — titled "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" —is one of the most highly anticipated games around. However, it seems that the game will face some delays as its creator Scott Cawthon teased some obstacles for the game's release.

According to Game Rant, "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" should have definitely been released on Oct. 7 but if Scott Cawthon's announcement is true, then it is possible for the game to be delayed for a few months. The post — as seen on the Steam page of the game — states that the main reason for the game's delay is simply due to the fact that it is too dark for Cawthon.

Basically, he went so far as to say that the game's plot elements are making him so sick that he wants to allot more time in order to rework the game into something more family-friendly. Of course, this is not met well by most fans, despite the fact that games get delayed all the time. This seems to be a special case since Cawthon chose to make this move mere days before the game's release.

Furthermore, according to the BitBag, while it is true that the majority of the game's audience are young people, most are already too invested with the game's plotline, which revolves around an unsolved child massacre mystery. This is also weird as the earlier "Five Nights at Freddy's" games had plenty of dark scenes, despite the fact that the deaths resulting from a "Game Over" event were done off-camera.

However, fans are doubting the authenticity of Cawthon's statement since the game developer has been known to troll his fans in the past. As such, it could be possible that he is doing this to generate even more hype for the upcoming game. It is also possible that he actually just forgot his audience's actual age demographic.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
