The wait for Scott Cawthon's next game "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" may soon be over, based on the hint posted by the game developer on his official website.

The independent game developer opted not to provide more details about the spin-off game of his fan-favorite point-and-click survival horror game. But he seemed to have revealed the game's actual release date on his website, which pointed out that the game could come out on Oct. 7.

Reports claimed that the spin-off game will be different from "Five Nights at Freddy's." In the new game, players will assume the role of technicians who are working on graveyard shift on what seemed to be a circus location instead of working as security guards at a pizza restaurant. The players also have to beat all the creepy animatronics that will suddenly come to life at night in order to win the game.

Meanwhile, Cawthon addressed a fan's concern about the possible negative public response to "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" upon release, just like what happened when he unveiled the "FNaF World."

At a forum post on Steam, the fan said that he is worried that the new game will not be well received by the fanbase, and it could also be discontinued just like what happened in the "FNaF World" RPG.

But Cawthon responded by saying that he is not worried about how the fans will take the upcoming game. "This is just the nature of adding something new to any series, and a risk that every developer takes. I have no idea what the response will be. Everyone might love it or everyone might hate it. Obviously I hope that the response will be positive! Only time will tell!" the game developer stated.

"Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" is expected to be released on Steam, but mobile releases are also expected to be in the works soon.
