'Final Fantasy XV' release date: Game affected by display optimization issues

FF XV is slated to be released on November 29. Playstation Japan

"Final Fantasy" fans are hoping that the 15th main installment of the game will finally be released in November. The game suffered another delay due to display optimization issues, dropping from the targeted 30 FPS on a 1080p resolution.

"Final Fantasy XV" currently runs with dynamic resolution on the console, between 900p and 1080p for the PlayStation 4 and 765p and 900p on the Xbox One. Both consoles offer almost 30 FPS frame rate. However, Square Enix still needs to work on the optimization, as well as stabilize the frame rate, according to game director Hajime Tabata, Dual Shockers reported.

Kotaku added that Tabata also shared the some more reasons behind the game's released date being pushed back by two months, from September to November. Aside from optimization issues, there are still bugs that need to be fixed, though this will not affect the overall gameplay. "There are still of number of bugs like characters floating unnaturally in the air or appearing all strange [and glitchy]," the director said during an interview with Famitsu.

Tabata also added that he is concerned for players who do not have access to the internet. If the company will not fix this issue now, some gamers may not be able to get the day-one patch that they could release. These players will not be able to enjoy the game like the other. He is aware that the number is small, but still wants the game to be at its best when it is released.

For some mild spoilers, the director mentioned that the first half of the game is an open world, but the second half will be more linear. It is also on the latter portion that city of Altissia will show up. There will be a train ride that will deliver the remainder part of the story.

"Final Fantasy XV' is set for a worldwide launch on Nov. 29 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
