A month prior to the premiere episode of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2, a new poster was released to reveal where the series is heading this season.

Based on the poster, Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and their families will be sailing toward the open seas in season 2. But according to showrunner Dave Erickson, the series will not be having a plot that is "'The Love Boat' with zombies" since it will be filled with lots of adventures.

Speaking to Variety, Erickson teased how the open sea will play an important role in "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2. "We will have a mixture of land and sea, but it will be a while before we land on a specific destination, and that'll be part of the tension at the beginning part of the season," the showrunner revealed.

He also revealed that the survivors who boarded Victor Strand's (Colman Domingo) boat, The Abigail, at the end of season 1 will have a steady supply of food. Since they are already at sea and can catch fish, they will never get hungry. However, several circumstances will pop up that will force them to get out of their comfort zone.

The premiere episode will feature a little time jump that will highlight how the characters will deal with the losses.

The season will also center on the relationships that will be built on the boat.

"I think they have bonded over the past couple of weeks — but we will be playing with that question that Exner (Sandrine Holt) posed last season, 'What is family? Is it blood or is it bond?' And I think that question will be tested over the course of the season stuck on the boat," the showrunner shared.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 premieres on April 10 on AMC.
