'Fast and Furious 8' rumors: Paul Walker still appearing in next installment?

"Fast and Furious 8" won't come until Apr. 14, 2017, although the plot for the next installment seems to be centered on Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster). Now, with that in mind, Mia is, of course, nothing if it does not include her love interest in the film, the late Paul Walker.

Presuming that the plot will indeed center on Mia, don't be surprised if Brian O'Connor (Walker) would still be seen in the eighth installment of the movie franchise. To make that happen, it may include past clips with the aid of some computer-generated imagery (CGI) technology, of course. Then again, maybe one of Walker's brothers could get the call again, with the exception of Cody Walker who is no longer part of the franchise, as reported by Movie News Guide.

After Paul Walker's untimely death, there were some who had reservations about how the "Fast and Furious" franchise could move on. But seeing how successful "Furious 7" was, it seemed that the people behind the movie have pulled the right strings to make it work. And now, they are in for another challenge when they go character-centric.

"Fast and Furious 8" will be the first of a trilogy and Mia seems to be the first up. For those who followed the franchise since its first release, Mia's magic may lack that certain flare with Walker not around to compliment her.

If the plans are indeed on this angle, expect extensive CGI work to be required here, which could be more than what the seventh installment used.

The "Fast and Furious" folks do, however, have enough time, seeing that plans for the eighth installment can be worked on in the coming year (unless they have already started to do so). Seeing how "Furious 7" was a blockbuster, "Fast and Furious 8" production team may be in for a tough task ahead to improve on that blockbuster performance.

For the meantime, let us take a look back at this tribute to the fallen "Fast and Furious" star.
