Game developer Bethesda will soon be releasing the much-talked-about Creation Kit for "Fallout 4," which is currently in beta stage. PC gamers will be receiving it first, around April.
Game Informer recently held an interview with Todd Howard, game designer, director and producer at Bethesda, where he discussed their future plans for "Fallout 4." Howard explained that after the PC version of the Creation Kit is released, it will take roughly a month for the roll-out of the Xbox One version, then another month for the PlayStation 4 version.
"Our goal is between the first two DLC packs," he said. "It'll go up at that time on PC, in April. All of that stuff will go up on PC. People are beta testing it. There'll be a lag on consoles. We want to get it up on PC and have it work. It'll probably be a good month before it hits Xbox One, and another month for PlayStation 4."
The Creation Kit is the same tool that the Bethesda team used to make the "Fallout" games. It will also be for free.
Unofficially, "Fallout4" mods have been in existence on the PC version for quite a time now, created by those ingenious PC gamers themselves. Any Mod Any Weapon, Higher Settlement Budget and Homemaker are some of the available mods in the open, as compiled by PCGamer.
During the interview, Howard was also asked about the upcoming DLC for the game and he shed some light on it. He explained that "Automatron" contains a mission and has something to do with building robots. He expects that gamers will enjoy building their own creations.
The "Wasteland Workshop" is also a type of build-your-own DLC, but to a greater extent. He said, "You can build your own arenas, capture animals, and also build other things."
"Far Harbor," meanwhile, is basically an additional map for the game, a coastal island, and is said to be similar to Far Harbor in Maine. "Fallout 4" players will help solve the mystery involving a lost young woman and the synths colony on the island.
Prior to this, Bethesda already announced when the three DLC packs are scheduled to be released: "Automatron" in March, "Wasteland Workshop" in April, and "Far Harbor" in May.
