'Fallout 4' DLC release date, news: Bethesda VP insists 'Nuka World' is the last expansion pack

Reports of a new expansion pack for "Fallout 4" continue following a mysterious downloadable content (DLC) listing that popped up on the Steam Database.

Naturally, this had gamers excited and intrigued, leading some of them to ask clarifications from Bethesda Softworks public relations and marketing vice president Pete Hines.

The Bethesda executive insisted that "Fallout 4" listing that showed up on Steam is not an expansion pack. "I've said repeatedly it's not DLC," Hines insisted.

He also emphasized that, like what the developer said before, "Nuka World" — released back in August — was intended to be the last DLC released for "Fallout 4."

Despite Hines insisting that no new "Fallout 4" DLC will be released, media outlets still believe that Bethesda has something up its sleeve.

Although it might not be a full-on expansion pack, the listing at Steam DB could be some sort of new content for the beloved game.

Some speculate that it could be Virtual Reality (VR) support for "Fallout 4," which was introduced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) last June, is set to be released sometime next year.

Meanwhile, many "Fallout 4" players believe that Bethesda should release new content for the game as the collection of DLC they released failed to meet their expectations.

The reviews for "Nuka World" from Steam members are mixed. IGN was not too thrilled about the DLC outside of the packed setting, while The Verge deemed it as a letdown.

"Fallout 4" players could use another DLC that will blow them away. However, Bethesda does not have plans about that at the moment.

For now, players can look forward to the mods coming to the PlayStation 4 version of the game as well as its highly-anticipated PS4 Pro version.

The feature has no release date yet, but Bethesda announced that the "Skyrim Special Edition" will get the mods first before "Fallout 4."
