'Empire' season 3 spoilers: more light shed on Lucious and Cookie's love story

How did Lucious and Cookie's romance begin? FOX

A lot has been revealed about Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), but fans have been for the most part kept in the dark about their past. This will change in "Empire" season 3.

In the highly anticipated new season, fans will get to know more about the life of Lucious and Cookie before they became what they are right now and how their relationship began.

Ajiona Alexus and Jeremy Carver were tapped to play teenage Cookie and Lucious respectively in flashback scenes retelling in "Empire" season 3how they fell in love.

It turns out that Cookie was, as per Deadline, "a beautiful, innocent teenager" who attended Catholic school. Even the uniform she wore there cannot hide what was referred to as "the Cookie spark."

As a teenager, Luscious has already mastered his amazing voice. He was described as "a bad-boy edge that captures the heart" of teenage Cookie.

Apart from these two, "Empire" season 3 will also be graced by musician and actor Kid Cudi. He will play a recurring character by the name Gram, an independent musician who will be a rival to Hakeem (Bryshere "Yazz" Gray).

The competition does not just involve the music scene. They will also be rivals in the game of love seeing that Gram is dating Tiana (Serayah McNeill), Hakeem's former girlfriend.

Unfortunately, this won't be the only problem Hakeem deals with in "Empire" season 3. It is feared that Anika (Grace Gealey), who is pregnant with Hakeem's baby, was pushed off the balcony by Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) in the season 2 finale.

In the season-ender, the two were in the middle of the fight when one of them pushes the other. It is unknown who it is yet, but fans fear Anika and her baby will be in grave trouble in "Empire" season 3.

"Empire" season 3 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
