It will be an incredibly long wait before developer Bethesda Game Studios starts its work on "Elder Scrolls 6." While the game is well on the table, the company has its focus on other games at the moment.

Bethesda vice president for public relations and marketing Pete Hines revealed on Twitter that "we aren't working on [Elder Scrolls 6] at the moment."

He revealed that this is because Bethesda still has "two other major titles to work on." This was what was said last month when the company revealed "Elder Scrolls 6" as one of its projects in the years to come.

Bethesda director and designer Todd Howard described these titles last month via Digital Spy as "bigger than anything we've done," even adding that gamers will hear about these games prior to "Elder Scrolls 6" but still "many years from now."

That being said, "Elder Scrolls 6" is still a long way down the road. This is actually what Bethesda underlines since they know fans are extremely excited to get their hands on the game.

In another one of his tweets, Hines said that his straightforward responses to fans regarding the release date are his attempts at "managing expectations and clearing up misconceptions."

"Elder Scrolls 6" is expected to be one massive game that should be worth the wait. Bethesda has grand and ambitious visions for the "Skyrim" sequel as well which even today's technology won't handle.

"We have a pretty good idea of what that's going to be, and it's just going to take technology and time we don't necessarily have right now," Howard added.

A concrete release date for "Elder Scrolls 6" is yet to be determined. With two enormous projects in front of them and the fact that Bethesda is infamous for taking years to put out a massive game, it will take a while before the action role-playing open-world fantasy game will be ready.
