The hair may be different but underneath all that is still Goku, well sort of.

Apparently Goku will be getting a major makeover as he prepares to battle Golden Frieza. But the blue hairdo does mean something and this actually signals his transformation into a Super Saiyan God.

Aside from the color, Goku's hair will practically be in the same style as he did in Super Saiyan 1. Other than the movie which is slated to premier on April 18, gamers can expect Goku to be among the playable characters on Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden on the Nintendo 3DS.

Fans can look forward to watching the movie in either 2D or 3D versions, the first Japanese film to be played on 3D IMAX Digital.

Aside from the April 18 debut, there will be a North American advanced screening premiere on April 11 in Los Angeles, something that will be hosted by Funimation. From there, the film will reportedly be shown in more theaters, complete with English dub before it officially gets shown in theaters starting the 18th.

For a little background on Goku, he made his first appearance in the film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. He entered into Super Saiyan God form in that movie but his hair was colored red. So now as his hair turns blue, it should be interesting to keep tabs on what new abilities and powers Goku will have.

Judging by his adversary, the Golden Frieza, we should be seeing something worthwhile. Moreover, and whatever that special ability or power may be, could become a tip on what to expect once the character does come out in the Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden for the Nintendo 3DS.
