Game publisher Bandai Namco has recently announced that their upcoming "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," developed by Dimps, will have its Closed Beta on Oct. 8, while the Open Beta will commence on Oct. 14. Both tests will only be available for the PlayStation 4.

The Beta schedule was posted on Twitter recently and will start on Oct. 8 at 17:00 JST, which is around 9:00 a.m. UK Time, and 4:00 a.m. EST. The Closed Beta will end by Oct. 10 at 17:00 JST. The Open Beta will run from Oct. 14 until October 17, also at 17:00 JST.

PlayStation 4 players who have pre-ordered the "Dragon ball Xenoverse 2" in digital format through the PlayStation Store are all entitled to participate in the test. Players will need a code for the closed Beta, which will be sent out before the start date, while a PlayStation account will be needed for the Open Beta, the company added in the announcement.

Bandai Namco also said: "Be ready to take part in the tournaments to show the world that you are the best Time Patroller! All players who participate in the Beta will also receive a small gift when the game is released!"

Prior to the announcement, the company also released a new gameplay video that highlights several moves that players will able to perform once the game is released. A Saiyan and a Majin custom characters were featured in the video, which also showed some powerful special techniques.

MobiPicker added that participants in the Beta test would need to download the game client first and then create a character, either a Sayan or non-Saiyan. Regular 1-on-1 fights will be available all throughout the Beta, but there will also be team fights. These will be composed of 6 v.s. 1 matches.

Beta test participants of the previous game received a special insignia for their characters. It is not certain if this will also happen with the second game. However, all five races will be accessible during the tests.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" launches on Oct. 25 in North America and Oct. 28 in Europe for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
