"Diablo IV" may not be coming out anytime soon, but at least "Diablo" fans have something to look forward to. Blizzard Entertainment is going to recreate the original "Diablo" for "Diablo III" and it will be out by January 2017. In a few months' time, players will get to revisit the small town of Tristram and see The Butcher chase them while hacking with a huge cleaver.

Fans who can't wait until next year can check out "The Darkening of Tristram" right now by logging in to the Public Test Realm (PTR) version. Players must have a copy of "Reaper of Souls" to do this.

The anniversary event is found in Act I at the Old Ruins waypoint. Players who have difficulty looking for it can just open the map and look for the pentagram labeled "The Darkening of Tristram." There should be a town portal labeled "Tristram" in that area.

The developers need all the feedback they can get, so don't hesitate to join. Right now, the people who have given their feedback don't seem to be too impressed with the event. But that could change when the final product rolls out. Patch 2.4.3 should also fix a number of issues that players have been experiencing in "Diablo III."

Players should be reminded that "The Darkening of Tristram" is just a temporary anniversary event and it is only available in January, so don't miss it. Blizzard wants to make this an annual event, so expect the remake patch to come out yearly moving forward.

As expected, some people aren't happy with that idea. Matthew Figueira of Lazygamer.net says he doesn't understand why Blizzard would make this a limited time event.

"I really thought the original Diablo would be there in Diablo III to enjoy forever. As it turns out though, it's just there for a mere month, which I really think is silly on Blizzard's part," he stated.
