'Dark Souls III' DLC release date news: gamers will get new enemies, weapons and maps

Dark Souls 3 From Software, Bandai Namco

The first DLC for "Dark Souls III" is not expected to arrive until fall, but players are already getting excited about the things that will come their way when the expansion pack arrives. There are two DLC packs planned for the game.

Based on the official description of the expansion pack from Steam, the first DLC will bring in new maps, additional enemies and bosses, as well as more armor sets and weapons.

"Challenge yourself with new maps, bosses, enemies and additional weapon and armor sets. Prepare yourself once more and embrace the darkness."

The Xbox page for the season pass also mentioned that the DLC will arrive by fall, while the second will be available by early 2017.

However, no specific details are available at the moment on what type of bosses, weapons and armors will be available. There is no information either on how big the upcoming map or maps will be, as mentioned by Video Gamer

"Dark Souls III" was launched almost a month ago, outside of Japan, by Bandai Namco and is generally well received by the gaming community. The game is the last of the series, and fans and critics agree that it is well-fitting to be called the last game. It did had some minor problems during its launch and a glitch on its first few days on the PC, but a timely fix was enough to bring back the enjoyment to its die-hard fans.

The game also gained the reputation of being a difficult one. There are a handful of PC version players who have not made it to the first bonfire. The game's Steam achievement page shows that one out 10 players are having a hard time to push through and make it to the first boss, Game Rant reported.

A "Dark Souls III" Season Pass is available for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for US$25, and will include both DLC packs.
