'Dark Matter' season 2: Series gets renewed; what to expect?

 Syfy Official

"Dark Matter" is one of the series that left so many unanswered questions when its first season concluded. But good news to all its followers, the sci-fi series has been renewed for another season comprising of 13 episodes, which will air in 2016.

Back in season 1, the show revealed Six/Griffin Cross (Roger Cross) to be the traitor when he sold out Raza's crew member to the Galactic Authority.

Breathecast reported that most viewers were convinced that Six had it in him from the start to betray the people he's with. But series creator Joseph Mallozzi shared his opinion about Six on his weblog.

The series creator implied that Six is innocent, just like the other people on the ship, since he was able to pass the lie detector test that was seen in the third episode of season 1. It only shows that Six really didn't recall his memories and it still remains to be seen if he ever got them back in season 1.

Mallozzi did not only reveal about Six's character but also talked about the future of the show. He admitted that he envisions the series to reach five seasons consisting of 13 episodes each.

Meanwhile, not much has been revealed about what's to come in season 2, but Mallozi did confirm that there will be "Stargate" actors who will be featured in the upcoming season.

"Dark Matter" season 2 is currently being written, and the show is set to return next year, although Syfy has yet to announce an official release date.

"Dark Matter" is a sci-fi series produced by Prodigy Pictures and it centers on the story of six individuals who woke up on an abandoned spaceship with no recollection of who they are and how they ended up in the area.

Aside from Cross, the series stars Melissa O' Neil, Anthony Lemke, Alex Mallari, Jr., Marc Bendavid, Zoie Palmer and Jodelle Ferland.
