NASA's Curiosity rover's trip to Mars has captured stunning images, giving people a good view of what lies on the Red Planet.

Recently, the rover captured an image of what was perceived as a figure of a woman standing on Mars' surface.

UFO Sightings Daily brought the image to public attention and wrote about it describing the figure to be a "partially cloaked" lady.

The photo quickly circulated through social media and the figure was then given the title "Dark Lady," stirring rumors of a possible hoax or simply an error in visual processing.

A video was posted on YouTube trying to figure out everything that looks familiar on the planet. For instance, it was described in the video below that there appears a "cave entrance" or an "alien house" just near the woman-like figure.

Some people believe that the image is proof that life on Mars is real, while others dismiss it as fake.

This lady-like figure on Mars' surface came out days following the photo of what was called as a "space crab," another photo by Curiosity rover that also circulated online.

The "space crab", to some, was a spider or an alien, but it appeared to be just a rock from the planet. Then again, it could be just the mind playing tricks on those who see it.

According to senior astronomer Seth Shostak at Center for Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) Research, seeing the space crab is an example of pareidolia, which is comparable to a person who perceives images in clouds who then believes they see something and so the brain thinks there's something to see but there really isn't.

The image with the woman-like figure may or may not exist; it depends on an individual's observations and beliefs.

Meanwhile, NASA just launched their interactive website, Experience Curiosity, in which people can control the popular space rover and explore Mars.

Curiosity rover has provided the science community and the public with great findings on the Red Planet since it landed in August 2012.
