Churches urged to rise up in faith

Queues formed outside Windsor Castle as 800 delegates packed the nearby Windsor Parish Church for the annual G12 Europe Conference held from the 30 October to 1 November.

More than 300 people who tried to sign up online at the last minute were unable to register for the church conference which was sold out.

Buckingham Palace sent a letter of thanks for prayers for the Queen at the conference after Pastor Wes Richards of King’s Church International, who are hosting the event, had written to the Queen. The theme of the conference is a ‘Royal Generation' based on 1 Peter 2:9.

Guest speakers Pastor César Castellanos and his wife senator Claudia Castellanos, leaders of the 200,000 member Misión Carismática Internacional (MCI) church in Bogotá, Colombia are also the pioneers of G12 vision to train disciples and spread the Gospel everywhere.

Pastor Castellanos had spoken last week to a crowd of 100,000 in the World Cup stadium in Seoul, South Korea at the invitation of Pastor David Yonggi Cho.

Pastor Castellanos said, "This is a new day for Britain and a new day for the G12 vision in Britain. This is the first time we have had a conference in the UK that represents the G12 vision."

He urged Christians to stop talking pessimistically about the rise of secularism and Islam and realise what can be achieved when individuals and churches rise up in faith and follow Christ’s examples of making 12 disciples who will disciple others.

Pastor Lawrence Khong, the senior pastor of Faith Community Baptist Church in Singapore, is also speaking at the conference.

Senior pastor, Wes Richards said, "The conference includes leaders from every continent. Many of whom are strategic leaders in their own nation.

"What impresses me so much about what is happening at this conference is that it represents a genuine grassroots movement of sincere biblical faith with a transformative worldview."

Pastors César and Claudia started MCI in 1983 with eight people. Claudia Castellanos, a former ambassador to Brazil, serves in the Colombian Senate to which she was elected in 2006.

The international G12 conference hosted by MCI in Bogotá every January, is attended by the President of Colombia.
