Chris Hemsworth had already signed up for his role in Ghostbusters reboot, being the male member of the all-female ghost fighting group.

A recent photo released by Vulture via Twitter showed for the first time Hemsworth on set and fully geared up with the iconic Ghostbusters suit and riding a motorcycle.

The 32-year-old actor joins the crew composed of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

Hemsworth will be playing the male version of the receptionist, Janine, who was portrayed by Annie Potts in the 1984 film.

Based on the photo, Hemsworth's character will most likely take on a hands-on role as opposed to Janine's character, who was mostly doing secretarial tasks.

The Australian "Thor" actor previously declined the calling for this role, Variety initially reported, stating that the role offered to him was not big enough.

However, producers had the script redone and gave Hemsworth a more important part in the movie, so he took on the role.

Meanwhile, "Ghostbusters" reboot will also star Andy Garcia, who will be playing the role of New York City mayor; Matt Walsh; Michael K. Williams; and Neil Casey.

It was also reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Bill Murray will be returning to the movie, but there's no information on his role yet.

"Ghostbusters" has started filming in Boston. It was also reported a few weeks ago that the movie is heading to South Weymouth, which will be part of the set location for the reboot, as confirmed by Columbia Pictures Locations Manager Charlie Harrington.

This announcement put to silence speculations coming from local officials and South Weymouth residents that film director Paul Fieg was setting up the old hangar and runway for the upcoming movie.

According to the Patriot Ledger, filming in the location will begin later this month and will most likely last for a month.

The remake of "Ghostbusters" is scheduled to hit cinemas in July 2016.
