Chile will play Mexico on Monday night in a massive Copa America 2015 Group A game. These two teams are favourites to progress from Group A, however, Mexico were unable to claim maximum points from their opening game, meaning the pressure is on them more than Chile - who won their first game - to gain the victory today to ensure they remain on course to get through to the knock out rounds.

Chile come into today's game knowing that another win here will guarantee their qualification for the next round of Copa America. Even if they fail to claim all three points here today they should be able to gain the win they need in their final group game against Bolivia later this week. However, they will be vying for the win today to ensure their progress at the earliest possible opportunity, and being the host nation they are the big favourites to defeat a Mexico team missing some of the top players.
Chile managed a solid win in their opening game, defeating Ecuador 2-0 to put them in a commanding position in Group A. However, Mexico struggled in their first game, taking part in a disjointed and uninspiring 0-0 draw against Bolivia. The Mexican fans were not impressed, and booed their team from the pitch at the end.
That means Mexico come into today's encounter with Chile knowing they must at the very least gain a draw against the host nation. A loss would put them on the verge of elimination, although their fate would depend on the result of today's other Group A game, as well as the results in the final round of games in the group later this week.
Ordinarily Mexico would be able to compete with this strong Chile side, however, Miguel Herrera has brought a less than full strength squad to the Copa America this year, instead opting to leave a number of his first team senior players at home to rest in advance of this year's CONCACAF Gold Cup, which takes place after the Copa America.
Javier Hernandez and Carlos Vela are both not with the Mexico squad at the Copa America, and players of such caliber will clearly be missed when they take on other top teams at this year's competition.
Adding to their apparent woes defender Rafael Marquez had to be substituted early in Mexico's game against Bolivia, and be was clearly limping as he left the pitch. He is a doubt for today's game with Chile and that will weaken their team even further and potentially leave more gaps at the back for Chile to expose.
