The squad will tackle another murder case that will personally affect Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) in the finale of "Chicago P.D." season 3.

According to the synopsis for the episode titled "Start Digging," Voight's son Justin (guest star Josh Segarra) will be linked to the case of a murdered single mother after the team discovers that the two are in constant communication. But when the team learns that Justin was also fatally attacked in the same area where the murder victim was found, Voight's interest in the case turns personal as he seeks to make the person responsible for hurting his newly reformed son pay for the crime.

The synopsis for the episode reads:

"When the team finds the body of a widowed, single-mother in the trunk of her car, they are shocked to discover that the victim was in constant contact with Voight's now-reformed son, Justin. After Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Voight find Justin has been attacked in the same manor and is critically injured, Antonio (Jon Seda) and the team know that Voight will be out for revenge. Meanwhile, Roman (Brian Geraghty) makes a difficult decision and Commander Crowley (guest star Barbara Eve Harris) has plans to make changes within the unit."

Based on the trailer for the third season finale of "Chicago P.D.," Voight will do everything that he can to find the culprit. But the team knows that it could end up in disaster. But when Voight is about to be excluded from the case because of his connection with the victim, the head of Chicago P.D.'s Intelligence Unit warns that they might as well put a bullet in his head.

Can the team prevent Voight from avenging his son?

The third season finale of "Chicago P.D." is scheduled to air on Wednesday, May 25, on NBC.
