"Captain America: Civil War" is only a few months away, but news about the film have not stopped spreading. And it certainly seems like it's not going to die down anytime soon.
Everyone knows by now that the trailer for the film has been released. Although it starts out on a mellow tone, the two-minute clip then swiftly transitions to guns blazing and was understandably packed with tons of action scenes.
Now, new concept art (pictured above) for the film was posted by Marvel and the image boasts an epic battle among the two superhero camps. The image was done by Ryan Meinerding and Andy Park.
The photo shows the two superhero leaders, Captain America and Iron Man, sorting their disagreement with their fists. On their right are Bucky with his bionic arm and Black Panther with his vibranium suit fighting each other. "Captain America: Civil War" will mark Black Panther's cinematic debut before getting a solo film of his own in 2018. The Wakandan prince is after Bucky for the crimes he allegedly committed while working as an operative for Hydra. To the left are Black Widow and Ant-Man, the latter appearing to have shrunk down to his miniature size.
It has been rumored, however, that Ant-Man's larger self, Giant-Man, might make an appearance in the film, owing to a report that emerged regarding a Giant-Man Funko Pop toy going on sale.
On the upper left corner are Vision and Scarlet Witch having it out with the use of their superpowers. On the upper right are War Hammer (previously War Machine) and Falcon, with the former blasting a gun at the latter, who dodges the attack. And finally, Hawkeye is seen right below Vision and Scarlet Witch, seemingly preparing to aim his arrow at someone or something.
The newly released image only serves to excite fans more, especially with all the hype that's been built around the film.
For those who are unaware of the film's premise, Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America) summed it up quite nicely while speaking to Cineplex. "We're going to have a nice evolution where you have a guy like Cap, who grew up with structure — he was a soldier and he liked hierarchy, he liked the chain of command. Now, all of a sudden, you have a guy who used to love the system not so sure about trusting it. And a guy like Tony Stark, who used to buck the system and dance to the beat of his own drum all of a sudden thinking, maybe we need some order."
"Captain America: Civil War" will hit cinemas on May 6, 2016.
