Three action-packed and mystery-filled episodes in, newly launched crime drama series "Blindspot" received a back-nine order for a full season. This means that the show will now run for 22 episodes. This is after the consistent high viewership and ratings of the series in a span of three weeks.

"Blindspot" follows the story of a mysterious beautiful woman (played by "Thor" star Jamie Alexander) whose past is blurry and whose tattoos peppered on her body hold clues pertaining to crimes and disasters that ultimately help the FBI thwart the wrongdoers.

The Wrap, which first reported the news, says that since its premiere in Sept. 21, the series has become the highest-rating new series in the 18-49 demographic with an average of 2.7 rating and 9.6 million viewers.

As per TV by the Numbers, "Blindspot" had 10.61 million people tuning in and earned an impressive 3.1 rating when it aired its pilot episode. The full season order makes the series the first fall series to get such back-nine treatment as well.

Apart from Alexander, the ensemble also includes Sullivan Stapleton, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ukweli Roach and Ashley Johnson. The executive producers include Martin Gero, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Mark Pellington and Marcos Siega.

"Blindspot" is now on its fourth episode. Titled "Bone May Rot," this installment brings FBI to the Center for Disease Control to prevent a "volatile situation" after Patterson and her boyfriend David successfully make sense of another tattoo on Jane's body.

As they race against the clock to save the day, the team realizes that what they are into is something so massive it can affect the whole globe. In the middle of all this, Weller and Jane become closer. Sadly, they are still so far from the truth about the latter's identity and why the former's name is tattooed on her back.

"Blindspot" season 1 episode 4 "Bone May Rot" airs Oct. 12 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
