Blackberry's decision to incorporate Android operating system (OS) to its phones seemed to have done the company good, as reports stated that more Android phones will be launched soon.
According to Neurogadget, Blackberry Priv was well received during its launch earlier this month despite being an expensive phone. This suggests that the company may still have hope in the smartphone industry and will soon begin another Android launch.
The news came from htxt.africa, which reported that Nader Henein, the person in charge of advanced security solution in Blackberry Advisory's Division, hinted that Priv may not be the last phone from the company.
"It wouldn't be a once-off (thing). [The license to use Android] is too expensive and it is a mass market product – it is for consumers, it is for enterprise, and is really for anyone who likes the keyboard and the versatility of the operating system," he told the news outlet.
Henein also said that Google has helped them all the way in their decision to develop an Android-based Blackberry phone that has impressive security features.
In line with this news is the various reports stating that specs of a new Blackberry have been leaked.
Based on a report appearing on GFXBench, an unidentified phone with model number STV100-1 is seen carrying an Exynos 7420 SoC from Samsung and running on Android 5.1.1, Geeky Gadgets reported.
The news outlet speculated that this could be the previously rumored Blackberry Vienna.
The Vienna was first brought up by tech news outlet Crackberry, which also released a first look on the rumored smartphone.
The benchmark report also indicated that the phone has a 5.1-inch QHD display, 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage, 5-megapixel selfie shooter and a 16-megpixel main camera.
The news outlet highlighted that the benchmark report may or may not belong to Blackberry's device. At the same time, there is also a possibility that the specs details may be fabricated.
So far, nothing has been confirmed, so people should just wait for more updates from Blackberry.
