Publisher 2K has recently announced the results of their successful worldwide open beta test for their upcoming online first-person shooter video game, "Battleborn." Their game servers have recorded over 2 million game participants during the beta that ended on April 18.

2K said on their website, "First off, we want to extend a huge THANK YOU to the over 2 Million bada***s who played theBattlebornOpen Beta! You freakin' rock!"

It also added, "While you were busy slicing and dicing, running and gunning, and even clotheslining your way through two Story Mode episodes, two Competitive Multiplayer Modes, and takingBattleborn's 25 unique heroes for a test drive; the Devs here at Gearbox were crunching the numbers to find out exactly how many times you cut short Geoff's... er, Arachnis' reign as Spider King."

During the five days of open beta testing, players were also able to achieve 1.1 million competitive multiplayer matches, 1.4 million story mode episodes played, and 27 billion Shards in-game currency collected

Top healers were the characters Miko, Ambra and Rath, who have contributed to 57 billion life points healed, while the characters' Oscar Mike, Marquis, and Thorn were the top damage hurlers. An easy opponent boss, named Geoff, have attempted to be a spider 1.6 million times.

2K will be offering rewards to players who have completed specific challenges during the open beta, IGN added.

"Battleborn" was developed by Gear Software, who was responsible for "Half-Life" together with Valve, "Brothers in Arms," and the "Duke Nukem" series. Having a space fantasy setting, "Battleborn" offers players 25 playable characters to choose from, each one equipped with different skills and abilities. One is called Rath, a melee-based character and is equipped with a katana, while Thorn is capable of inflicting damage from afar with his bow and arrow. Miko is primarily a support character that can heal teammates during combat. Each character is also capable of gaining the ultimate ability, but needs to turn the view in to a third-person perspective.

"Battleborn" standard edition is available for pre-order for US$60, while the Season Pass is another US$20 and will include five DLC packs. A Deluxe Edition is available for US$75, and it includes a discount for the game and the Season Pass, plus it also includes three legendary Gear packs, golden pedestal during character selection, a gold "Battleborn" logo on the title screen, and a few more.

"Battleborn" will be released worldwide on May 3 and will be available for the Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
