'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' news: Superman screen time rumors debunked

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is one of the most anticipated films from Hollywood and it's not unusual for the film to be surrounded by rumors.

One such rumor came from Heroic Hollywood, which stated that Warner Bros. advised film director Zack Snyder to increase screen time for Ben Affleck as his portrayal of The Dark Knight was so impressive. That also meant less screen time for Superman — will Henry Cavill fans be disappointed?

The rumor, however, was not confirmed by sources of the news outlet; still, it spread like wildfire online.

Recently, the said rumor was debunked, as reported in iDigitalTimes, and it was Forbes movie reviewer and film blogger Mark Hughes who took time to write about it.

According to Hughes, fans can relax as there is no truth to the rumor that Superman's screen time was cut. In fact, Hughes stated that the main story revolves around the Man of Steel.

"Dawn of Justice" was also entangled in another recent rumor, which claimed that Snyder's teenage son Eli would play as Robin in the upcoming movie.

The said rumor was similarly quashed by no less than Syder himself. In an interview with Yahoo, Snyder denied that 18-year-old Eli would appear in the movie as the Caped Crusader's sidekick.

"There's a rumor that my son is [playing] Robin. It's not true. Now there are all these images of him that people have made where he's dressed like Robin. It's fun to hear and see them," he said in a report from Yahoo!

The rumors about Eli playing as Robin started last July. The rumors were not surprising, though, since the teen had appeared in some of his father's film before, including 300 (as young Leonidas) and Watchmen (as young Rorschach), reported Screencrush.

The news outlet also reported that Snyder had taken a picture together with his son and put on a caption saying, "Boy wonder?" and that got everyone speculating. However, the director himself said it that it's not happening for "Dawn of Justice."

Snyder may have denied the rumor but the character Robin will appear on the film, based on the trailer.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters in March 2016.
