'Bates Motel' season 4 episode 8 spoilers: Norman forces his mother to choose sides

 A&E

Norman (Freddie Highmore) finally returns home from Pineview Institute, which could be a big problem for his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga) in the next episode of "Bates Motel" season 4.

In episode 3 titled "Til Death Do You Part," Norma married Sheriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell) so she can use his insurance for Norman's treatments. But she kept this a secret to her son, since she knows that Norman will not approve of it in the first place.

Yet it seems like new will always find a way to get into Norman's lap, since he found out about his mother's secret marriage to the sheriff through a newspaper clipping that he was supposed to use for his papier-mache project. This prompted him to set up a plan to be released from the mental institute earlier than what his mother planned.

Now that Norman is already back in the Bates' property, things are not looking good for Norma and Romero.

According to the synopsis for the episode titled "Unfaithful" that will air on Monday, May 2, Norma must go through a difficult ordeal of picking a side between her youngest son and her new husband who she already fell in love with.

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

"Norma will be torn between Norman and Romero. During a holiday outing, Norman is going to come to the realization that everyone has changed while he was gone."

Norman already knows that his mother only married the sheriff for his benefit, which is why he wants her to end their union right away. But is Norma really willing to break up with Romero?

Yet if the Bates matriarch will decide against her son's wishes, could she have an assurance that he will not threaten her life or her husband's?

Meanwhile, "Bates Motel" is currently shooting the new episodes for its fifth season.
