The "Attack on Titan" anime created a huge following after its debut on television. Fans have been eagerly anticipating its second season and were expecting it to premiere by early 2016. However, due to lack of material from the manga series, the animated series' schedule may need to be adjusted a little.
The last thing heard was from Design & Trend, which reported that the material coming from manga series needs to be at least four arcs long before a season of the anime can be completed. Reportedly, two more story arcs are needed to be able to start with the anime series. The production team, according to the report, is not planning to use filler material, which means that they only want to stay true to the original plot.
Tetsuro Araki is the one in charge of the anime adaptation while Hajime Isayama is the creator of the manga series. The "Attack on Titan" anime series started to be aired in Japan in 2013 and arrived in North America in 2014. From then on, it became an international hit and has spawned other products centered on the Titan theme.
For instance, several video games were released connected to the "Attack on Titan" manga and anime series. The gaming success started with "Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains" that was released in Japan in December 2013, while it landed in North America and Europe in May and June of 2015 for the Nintendo 3DS.
A new one is already making its way to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. It was released just recently, and is simply titled "Attack on Titan." This is currently available only in Japan and developed by Omega Force, which holds several games under its belt. Game Rant said that the game came straight out of the anime series, with many titans to slaughter. The report added that the Western gaming community will surely keep an eye out for this game and is expected for this year as well.
A live-action film was also adapted from the manga and was released last year. However, it did not fare well in its international release.
A trailer for "Attack of Titan" season 2 was posted by Roy Reviews on YouTube.
