ASUS ZenPad Z10 specs, release date: Premium LTE-enabled tablet is a Verizon exclusive

Android fans wanting to have an LTE-capable tablet can consider the ASUS ZenPad Z10 that is exclusively offered by Verizon. The slate is available now via the carrier's online store or through their retail stores starting October 13.

Benson Lin, corporate vice president and general manager for mobile communications, ASUS, said in the announcement, "ASUS is excited to launch the ZenPad Z10, further expanding our relationship and product offerings with Verizon. The ASUS ZenPad Z10 brings a premium and powerful tablet experience at a great price. We look forward to continuing to offer great products on Verizon's expansive 4G LTE network."

The new tablet is powered by a hexacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 64-bit processor with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz, which also comes with the Adreno 510 GPU. It also comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage capacity which is expandable up to 128 GB via a MicroSD card. It carries an 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front-facing cameras, and it will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow laced up with ZenUI.

Connection options include support for the carrier's 4G LTE network, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. It also contains a USB Type-C port for directly connecting to a PC and charging the device. A 3.5 mm audio port is built-in for private listening while a dual stereo speaker, with DTS-HD support, is also available for those who want their audio much louder. A 7,800 mAh lithium-polymer non-removable battery is also enclosed in its Slate Gray colored metal unibody.

"With Verizon LTE Advanced, you can get the most out of your new ASUS ZenPad Z10 on the next gen network. Available more than 450 cities from coast to coast, Verizon LTE Advanced gives you 50% faster peak wireless data speeds and is available in many less-served places including highways, interstates, country roads and rural America," the announcement added.

The ASUS ZenPad Z10 is available now via Verizon's online store. Their retail stores will start selling them on Oct. 13. The outright purchase price is $329.99 or $229.99 with a 2-year contract. An installment option is also available for $13.74 per month for 24 months.
