Apple users might not get the edge-to-edge display that they have imagined when it comes to the iPhone 8. There have been a lot of speculations in regards to the iPhone 8 since Apple is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the first iPhone.
9to5mac shared a report from JP Morgan where an analyst talked about the newest ideas that have circulated about the newer models of the iPhone that are supposed to be released in the fall of this year.
One of the most-talked-about changes with the anniversary edition iPhone is the edge-to-edge display, which spans from top to bottom and side to side. With the latest report, the newest iPhone will reportedly only have a horizontal edge-to-edge display, which is a lot similar to Samsung's Galaxy 8.
Another upgrade for the iPhone is said to be glass backs. They will be included in all the newer models of the iPhone, like the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, so that Apple is able to integrate wireless charging into the upcoming phones.
The newest designs for the iPhone will add an extra cost to the phones. JPMorgan estimated the additional cost to be $75–$80 per unit of the iPhone.
JPMorgan also discussed the possibility of having the AirPods included in the packaging of the newer iPhones. If these are to be added, it's highly likely for the iPhone's price to increase since the cost of the AirPods alone is $160.
In other news, Business Insider reported that analysts from Deutsche Bank said that no iPhone 8 will be released within this year. The reason for this are some technical difficulties that may take a while to get fixed, which will automatically postpone the release date.
Apple usually releases their new line of iPhones in September of each year, so a delay would be a surprise for the consumers.
No representative from Apple has confirmed or denied any of these reports.
