Apple seems to be working around the clock to put out a newer build of its latest iOS to millions of its users. In fact, development of a newly minted version of the iOS 9.2 is already moving along pretty fast.
The Cupertino-based tech firm just released the second public beta version of the iOS 9.2.1 to developers and pre-release testers. It comes roughly three weeks after the public beta 1 was rolled out to testers and members of the Apple Beta Program. As Apple always warns, "devices updated to iOS 9.2.1 cannot be restored to earlier versions of iOS."
Users registered to the tech giant's beta testing program get to access and try out the iOS 9.2.1 public beta 2. It serves as a minor step up to the first beta version and goes by the build number 13D14. The first one had 13D11.
According to Apple Insider, the increase in the build numbers usually hints that the public release of the software is on the horizon. The site adds that it could also mean the company is working to fix several minute issues for maintenance and security release.
Either way, 9to5mac believes that the iOS 9.2.1will be ready well ahead of the speculated March event, where a 4-inch iPhone dubbed the iPhone 6c or 7c will be showcased with iOS 9.3 on board.
It remains to be seen when exactly the iOS 9.2.1 will officially be rolled out the qualified iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch units although media outlets would like to believe that it would not be long before it sees the light of day.
Apple officially released the iOS 9.2 back in December last year and moved on quickly with a newer version. There were no aesthetic makeovers involved but the company did a lot of great changes for several apps like iBooks and Music and added a bunch of new emojis.
